Google's structured data documentation covers specific types for dozens of industries. Most sites apply the catch-all and move on.

This matters because generic schema communicates that a business exists. Specific schema communicates what kind of business it is and what precise attributes it has. A conversational AI trying to answer "where can I find a hotel with an airport shuttle and late checkout?" needs that specificity. Organization schema does not provide it. Hotel schema with the right properties does.

The exact ranking signals Ask Maps uses are not fully documented yet.
